Using "showvars" on a companion, i found out that they really do have a variable called "HomeLocation". Big WTF moment that reminded, how annoying this little glitch is.Įdit: I found something. And when she catched up with her, they had a conversation, several streets away from Diamond City. Fortunatly she is my only NPC with that glitch), upon entering Diamond City i saw her little sister run past me, outside of Diamond City and after her big sister, who was on the way to Sanctuary Hills. Nick talks with his assistant, and yesterday when i dismissed Piper near Diamond City (she already had the glitch, so she just walks back to Sanctuary Hills.

The NPCs are even scripted to interact with each other at their default homes. Piper has her own newspaper in Diamond City which she is very proud of and she has a little sister to take care of, and she gives up all that to live in some lousy shack in Sanctuary Hills? Thats just stupid. The description for "Fallout 4 Technical Support" calls it "Fallout 3." Would recommend a correction there. Please give suggestions to expedite the correction of this glitch. I'm not sure how tags work on this site, so I don't have any tags on this thread yet.

(I'm not sure if that means this thread should be here, in mod requests, or both.) If no console command corrections are available, I would like to request a mod to fix this rather glaring error. I know of at least one Steam forum with this unresolved. If there is a solution in console commands, I have yet to see it after extensive searching. However, if I dismiss her to, say, Sanctuary Hills, it is then impossible for her to ever return to her residency in Publick Occurrences, since it is no longer her most recent residency, and there is no option for it. Since there is no default home option, it is then impossible to send the companion to the special default home.įor example, if I dismiss Piper after first getting her as a companion and don't choose any options for where she should go, she will return to Publick Occurrences. However, if you have given a destination settlement previously, the companion will return to the most recent destination. Some companions, like Piper and Valentine, do not have default homes inside player settlements (Piper lives in Publick Occurrences, and Valentine lives in his agency.) I know that when dismissing a companion and exitting the destination settlement menu without selecting a destination, the companion will return to his/her default home.

Another benefit of catering to your companion’s likes is at the highest level you’ll unlock their Perk. You’ll be able to romance your companion once you’ve reached the highest level in relationship. The game will tell you if your companion approves of your actions. Piper likes it when you pick locks, but dislikes it when you give chems to junkies. For example, Garvey likes it when you help people out, but hates you if you ask them for money for doing them a favor. You’ll have to do things to get on their good side. Romancing each companion will be different depending on their personality. The more time you spend with the companion, the more options you’ll have to flirt with them. This is where having high Charisma stats will be beneficial. You’ll need to develop your friendship with your companion if you want them to fall in love with you.
